The OrthoCor Active Knee System uses pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) technology to deliver TD. PEMF has been shown
to stimulate an ion-ligand bonding reaction that binds Calcium (Ca2+) to calmodulin (CaM), resulting in the production
of nitric oxide (NO). One of the effects of NO is the stimulation of other reaction pathways that result in pain reduction,
as well as inflammation reduction which, in turn, leads to edema reduction.
