PEMF Patient Spotlight: Jim from California

Q: When did your knee pain start?
A: I was former high school and college athlete. My area of athletics was gymnastics, which is very hard on a lot of joints. I also snow ski. A year ago my orthopedic surgeon went in an cleaned out the debris from the damage that I incurred. I have never had surgery on my right knee but I do have occasional right knee pain.

Q: What did you previously use to treat the pain?
A: Celebrex I take all the time. The knee pain is still there in spite of Celebrex. I no longer take Napracin for stomach reasons. I also have Volteran gel I used on other joints in addition to the knee. I tried a series of 5 injections about a year ago and it was effective for a while but I haven’t gone back to do that. What I like about your product versus the injections is that I don’t have to go anywhere to do it. I don’t need to reserve time with a physician or with a physical therapist. My pain starts to kick up and I go, “Oh I need to do this again,” so I charge the units and I put in the OrthoPods.

Q: How has the pain affected your daily life?
A: When I am walking up the stairs in our 2 leveled house, I would have some intermittent pain going up and down the stairs and sometimes after going to the gym. I used to run. I no longer run. The right knee is more severely damaged.

Q: How has the Active Knee System helped you?
A: After many years of intense athletics which includes gymnastics and snow skiing and having 3 surgeries on my left knee, I find that this device gives a certain amount of relief to chronic osteoarthritis knee pain. It’s kind of like your clothing: every day you get up and put on your clothes and you go about your business. The days that I feel like I need to use the OrthoCor Knee System I strap it on and go about my business or work at the office.
